Thanks so much. We implemented this and tied it with Usage Tracking. Great idea!

Thank you for providing the detailed steps. Could you please also suggest a method how to find out what all reports are having filter conditions for a particular column that we wish to delete.

    Dear Shiva,

Happy techie blogging and value added post

Already following the approach you mentioned using two excel files webcat & RPD, but your approach to import in to database and analyzing them seems to be a good idea.

However, Looking for capturing the data model diagram along with Joins and cardinality from BMM layer from Siebel Analytics 7.8 version,

After seeing your above blog, from the RPD data, the BMM layer info Imported in to SQL Developer tables using them, we hope (need to try) to create the logical tables, using the modeling tool we would be able to mimic/create similar BMM model diagram along with logical table.logical column & Join conditions and cardinality

Can you please advise ? is there any other better approach ?

    Already raised in forums: https://community.oracle.com/thread/3874118

    Appreciate your help in advance.

    Regards,
    Venu .Kavuru

    Hi Shiva,

I need to create catalog report using catalog manager, that report contains Subject Area,Name,Owner,Column,Table.
We can generate report by using export option, but our requirement is we need to automate this process.Could you please help me to do this from informatica side or obiee side.
If you have script please share to me and also please explain me the process.

    Thanks,

You can use teh catalog manager command line utility (runcat.cmd/sh) with the column names as parameters . And then automate that OS comamnd using cron job or any etl tool.
