How to change OBIEE 11G browser Title

15 Oct

To change the OBIEE 11G browser Title name to your custom text Open productmessages.xml from <Middleware_Home>\Oracle_BI1\bifoundation\web\msgdb\l_en\messages. Search for kmsgProductPortal attribute and change its value with your custom text.

<WebMessage name=”kmsgProductPortal”>
<TEXT>Shiva BI Interactive Dashboards</TEXT>

save it and stop and start the Opmn to restart all OBIEE 11G services. Once the services are up, you will see the changed browser title as shown in below picture.

    Hello Shiva,

My issue may be out of context of the above post…sorry for that…

I am working on OBIEE I have to include report header to display page number, date and title in the analysis and the analysis has to be exported to pdf. I am able to see the header on pdf format of the report(analysis) but the header is not showing up when this analysis is added to a dashboard and also when exported to pdf(the dashboard has a prompt and the report should run for the dates entered). The report header is not showing up in dashboard.

Is there any workaround for this or am I missing any OBIEE settings?

    please help.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Shiva,

    A very handy post. Thanks.

One more thing. When we click on Catalog on Dashboards menu, the browser tab and windows title still show “Oracle BI Catalog”. How do I change it to some custom name ?

I am searching for an xml file where I can change it but have not found any till now. Please let me know if you have knowledge about this.

    Thanks in advance.

I was able to change the Catalog Browser Tab and Window name by editing the following file:

    File Location: C:\obiee11g\Oracle_BI1\bifoundation\web\msgdb\l_en\messages\uicmsgs\saw.catalog.xml

I had to edit the following two tags:

    1) Oracle BI Catalog

    2) %0% – Oracle BI Catalog

    Thanks n Regards

My question regarding the header title is what to do in case I want to add HTML tags.
For example, I’ve been requested to add TM in upper case.
