Change the “Business Intelligence” name on OBIEE11g Common Portal header

16 Sep

If you want to change the OBIEE11g Common portal header name open <MW_HOME>\Oracle_BI1\bifoundation\web\msgdb\l_en\messages\

productmessages.xml (You can make changes in this file to change browser title for application)

search for webmessage name=kmsgHeaderBIBrandName and change the text in <TEXT> </TEXT> tag

E.g:

<WebMessage name=”kmsgHeaderBIBrandName”>

<TEXT>Business Intelligence</TEXT> ——-> change this text to your application name e.g: BI Application

</WebMessage>

Now your application looks like below:

Thanks,

Shiva.

    Hi Shiva, how to remove it completely. We dont want to show any thing at all (display blank). Just logo is good for us.

    Shiva – it is not a good practice to modify productmessages.xml in its place. Instead, one should take a copy of productmessages.xml under /analyticsRes/customMessages//messages and then modify the xml file under this new location. Just my two cents.

      between customMessages and messages folders above, you need to specify individual language folders for the languages that are used in your environment.
